The emerging coalition movement aimed at unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections has officially extended its reach to Kwara State. Spearheaded by prominent opposition figures including former PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi, and ex-Governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, the coalition is gaining national traction.
As part of its ongoing efforts to mobilize Nigerians across the country, the Coalition on Monday released contact details for individuals, groups, and associations interested in joining the movement.
In a public statement signed by Hon. Abdulkadir Olanrewaju Oba-Aluko, the Kwara State contact person for the Coalition, the group extended an invitation to “interested organisations, groups, associations, and individuals” to register their interest in what it describes as a national political rescue mission.
“This invitation is part of the ongoing national efforts to build a strong coalition party to rescue Nigeria and save it from becoming a one-party state,” the statement read.
The coalition urged prospective members to text the name of their organization, two notable political leaders as referees.
The Coalition emphasized that the initiative is not centered on any one individual or personal political ambition. Rather, it aims to establish a united and inclusive political front.
“We are entering the political fora as a united front committed to building a stronger, more cohesive alliance where every member operates as a key stakeholder,” the statement added.
With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the Coalition’s expansion into Kwara signals its intention to build a formidable nationwide platform. Observers say the involvement of high-profile political figures could significantly reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
